We’ve been working with Audi of NZ for so long they almost feel like family – every year we spend 2 weeks with them in Queenstown producing visuals for Audi Ice Experience – but this little project was just an appetiser for what would follow.
In June, Audi launched with much fanfare their first full electric vehicle into the NZ market – the e-tron – a veritable powerhouse (excuse the pun) of Audi DNA packed into this SUV platform. All the bells and whistles you’d expect in a late model luxury SUV but with some new bleeding edge tech to top it off like virtual mirrors!
We joined the media event for a few days, traversing the rough backcountry Hawksburn road from Bannockburn to Clyde, where we were treated to a private tour of the iconic hydro scheme and a short release of water from the spill gates. The next day, we headed up to the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds for a mini-ice-experience – this really showed the capabilities of these vehicles, providing instant torque and drifting with steeze (style and ease!)
Two weeks later we were back in Queenstown producing content for the 11th year of Audi Ice Experience, which included the 4 e-trons in their performance lineup.
